Thanks for rising to Phaedrus' challenge, Postman.  I understand most of what you've said but would like you to elaborate on several points:

1. He will act in America's best interest not the Worlds. He has the contacts and experience to deal with other nations.

Where do you see a divergence in "America's best interests" and the "world's best interests"?  What issues are involved and how would you expect McCain to handle them?

2. He will work to eliminate pork barrell spending and bring fiscal spending down.

How?

3. He will noit try and balance the budget by raising taxes and increase discretionary spending.

Not sure I understand this - are you for/against a balanced budget?  for/against higher taxes - on individuals?  for/against higher taxes - on corporations?  for/against discretionary spending? and how do your responses fit together into a coherent fiscal policy? 

4. He will only make it four years and hopefully a real candidate will emerge

You sure want explanations for every McCain bullet point yet accept "Hope & Change" at face value.

But i'll try and humor you.

Let me ask you. Where don't you see a divergrence? Is it in the US's best interest to fund the United Nations yet watch them and member countries backstab the US at every turn. How many countries come to our aid, during dissasters, like we do around the World?

To the best of my knowledge he has fought against earmarks and has said he will eliminate them. Can he do it? Time will tell.

Perhaps I was unclear. I don't believe the way to balance budgets is to raise the taxes of those who create jobs. I think a President should have line item vetoes. I don't believe in taking money from those that earn it and giving it to those who don't.

You socialist's want your Government to take money, earned by someone, and give it to someone who has done nothing. You want to tax companies that in turn will raise prices. Not smart.

Of the names mentioned I like Romney. Has most experience running a business and understands the Global economy. Before you start attacking him take a look at the hedge funds Edwards and some of the so called progressives are involved with. As for the heir apparent with any luck at all a candidate will emerge in the next several years. Hope springs eternal.

Now how bout you Obamatons explain why you are so enamored with your candidate.

My comments + questions are this;

1 - BS, don't you understand that the US's best interests are the worlds. Because of our position on the top of the heap, it is in our interest to have international law and stability around the world. The invasion of Iraq has given power to the PetroTyrants, and the terrorists they fund.

2- Pork barrel? So, McCain has been in Washington for how long, and how has the gone for him? When his party controlled both the WH and both houses, didn't pork barrel spending explode? So much for McCain's experience and leadership.

3- To balance the budget, you either have to cut spending or raise taxes. Where will the Republicans start cutting. Remember,

1. the Pentagon,
2. SocSec,
3. Medicare/Medicaid and
4. debt payments are nearly 80% of the budget.

In order to get to balance, by cutting you need to slash 1 in half (yeah, that'll happen) ,2, or 3 in half (yep, please Postie, tell America's retirees that the GOP is going to be cutting their healthcare, and SS payments in half - before the election) or they need to shutdown the entire rest of the US govt. Which means everything, the CIA, FBI, congress, courts, FEMA, roads, bridges, Interstates, post offices, everything.

4- True here - except we already have a real candidate who'll undo the damage done by conservative ideaologues and the Republotards, Sen. Obama.
